The Vintage Group - Provides fellowship opportunities for adults as an avenue of service and a tradition in our church. The goal of the Vintage Group planning committee is to provide a range of activities that may appeal to many adults across the church and in the community. Activities include exploring nearby towns (Aberdeen, New Albany, Eupora, Pontotoc, and more); museums (MS Museum of Art, Elayne Goodman’s home, French Camp), historical & natural sites (Hummingbird Festival, Sciple’s Mill and Boardwalk at Sky Lake), eating delicious meals prepared especially for us (Prairie Wildlife and Chef Bobbaie).
The Lunch Bunch - The first Friday of each month this group gathers to have lunch together at a nearby restaurant. Watch the newsletter for details.
One activity that is growing in interest is the Starkville Community Theatre (SCT). A group that includes Vintage, Vintage New-B’s, and Vintage 2-B’s enjoy dinner and a show in fall and spring.
Each spring the Vintage group embarks on a trip. We have been to Crystal Bridges in Arkansas, Branson, MO to enjoy the music, New Orleans to tour the WWII museum and Nashville, TN. In 2018 we will take a 2 night, 3 day trip to Ocean Springs, MS, April 19-21. The itinerary will include the Walter Anderson Museum and the George Ohr Museum in Biloxi.
Somebody asked, “What do I have to do to be a member of the Vintage Group?” The answer is simple: Learn about an event that interests you and join in!
